With everything that went on last week it is as if this week has gone on without my permission. It’s May? It’s Wednesday? I’m 31 now? Oh dear gawd.
Well, 31 has a nice ring. I guess I can get used to it. I can’t help but be reflective and thankful for the people in my life. You know who you are
And now for something completely UN-sentimental and self promoting: Go to my facebook page to get special celebratory offers on artwork I make.
Been keeping the shop tonight. Normally I work in the morning on Saturdays painting and packing orders in between making special weekend breakfast for the crew. But since I was out way past my bedtime Friday night having some grown up good times seeing live music and having long over due fun my entire Saturday got thrown out of whack. Since I’m home on a Saturday night what better things to do than sit around creating new listings for my Etsy store and make sure things are in order for this sudden rush of holiday shoppers? Oh and of course wasting precious time on the Twitter. Which I pronounce Tvee-ter. It’s because I’m Swedish.
Are you making the most of your weekend? How so?
And finally it must be shared that I am offering you something really sweet this shopping season. Truly, I am a dear by offering you FREE shipping to where ever you live all over the world! (Until the 17th). But you gotta enter a special coupon code when you check out to get your shipping knocked off. That top secret code is FREEHOLIDAYS because I want you to be free of worry about the added expense of online shopping.
Sigh. All this shop sweeping has got me wiped out. I think I’ll go watch some old holiday movie and pass out on the sofa.
Starting at 7am (central) Oct. 14th – midnight Oct. 16th get 25% off everything in the Lauren Alexander Shop on Etsy. Get some pre-holiday shopping done! Prices are already reduced to sale price. No need to enter a coupon code or anything. Have any exciting weekend plans? I think I’ll head to the most sincerest pumpkin patch. Happy Friday!
It feels good to be back in the classroom. Except for the part where I am not home long enough to do anything during the week except cook food, clean up, do laundry, and do some Etsy shop keeping. Thank goodness I have oodles and oodles of things to sell (And by the way, they are all on sale for my Back to School Bash that you would know about already if you are a fan on facebook). Staying connected to my shop makes me feel great and I love interacting with people who appreciate my artwork. I’m closing in on a total of 4000 sales on Etsy which means 4000 things I have made are now spread out across the world. Wow! Okay so that’s a lot to wrap my brain around and my brain is really really defeated from thinking about lesson plans, seating charts, this painting or that one….green or black backgrounds….crayons or oil pastels…oh the second guessing begins! And never ends…..
I’m looking for ways to celebrate the milestone of selling 400o things on Etsy. If you have any ideas feel free to share them here! Another sale….another give away…maybe I could take all of you out for ice cream – I WISH!
Can only mean one thing. The dog days are over.
It’s back to school season. This is my third year teaching art but this will be my first year working full time. Also in two new schools. Needless to say the next few weeks will be the dreaded “transitional” type in the Alexander household. As soon as I come out from my anxiety heavy rock I will try to be creative again and share with you.
There is one bit of good news I’d like to share….
I WON! I did it, thanks to all who voted actually. To celebrate my facebook art contest victory with www.iprintfromhome.com I want to share a special coupon just for you good in my shop through one month from now. Use the coupon code “iprint” for 33% off your entire purchase. Sweet deal, eh? Why not use it on my glorious selection of new giclee prints?
What are you doing to get ready for the new school year?

Good news! I became comfy in my new workspace and have been painting quite a bit. And that’s super good news if you are in the market for some of my fantastic artwork – because all originals are on sale in my store right now. Including this little cutie you see above. Plus my ACEO (artist trading card size) paintings and my new abstract-ical paintings are all on sale. I’t fun to buy things that are valuable and important that you can pass on and cherish forever. Especially at a good deal.
Ok commercial over.
Wanna see something delicious?
This morning I woke up, made coffee and and browsed my Facebook feed. In the stream of ridiculous updates about this that and whatever that I can’t seem to live without looking at each day was a recipe posted for a vegetable friendly mac and cheese. I was intrigued. I went to the store. I bought ingredients. And later…I made this very delicious and dare I say nutritious dinner. And my kid had no clue there were vegetables in it. Score one for this sneaky mom.
July is here. Time to beat the heat with a little simple pleasure; enjoying the beauty of art! Right now all my original paintings (the actual thing I painted with my hands!) are on sale for 20% off.
