Just a quick shop announcement. All my limited edition prints will now come with a Certificate of Authenticity. I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time but with over two hundred prints in my old store I would have never been able to sort it all out and keep good records. Now that I am starting over in my new store it feels much more manageable to provide this service. Now you can be assured that if you buy an art print from me that it is the real deal. I like a little extra security, don’t you?
Also, sad news. The day has finally come when I closed up the original Lauren Alexander Art shop. Started in 2006, I spent 6 years polishing that shop and although I thought about keeping it open for my digital collage sheets I decided to close that door too and focus on just one shop with high quality hand made art.
Lastly, I’ts SUMMMERRRRRRR time. Sorry for yelling in your ear, but I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to be kicking back, sleeping in, traveling, painting, doing as I please for approximately 10 weeks.
Needless to say, I plan on making a whole lot of ME time.
This morning I stumbled out of bed and fumbled my way through the motions of making my daily coffee. I turned and bumped into my husband who grabbed me and hugged me and said I am going to start every day by hugging you and telling you how much I love you. I said, “ok” and went back to my routine.
A lot of people might be waking up with new plans and hopes and dreams for 2012. I am no different than most people.
One little catch phrase has been buzzing through my head. “Less is More” runs through my mind like a broken record.
I’m thinking a lot about doing a lot less.
While I figure out what I want to do with my time I put my Etsy store on vacation. (That means the shop is closed, for as long as I feel necessary). Because selling beautiful art prints and making beautiful paintings have become two separate things for me …and I want to paint more than I want to sell you things.
When I decide how to balance the two I’ll be back to sweep the shop and be a wonderful entrepreneur again. Right now, I want to be a painter.
Happy 2012!
Nothing turns a tough day around like a big old package with your name on it in the mail. Today I came home to my order of small art prints. I use www.iprintfromhome.com for all my art prints and I love them. It’s like getting Christmas presents especially when I have new prints to add to the collection. For those of you keeping track I have 130 small art prints to choose from. Why so small? A lot of reasons but my favorite comes from artist and musician Kristie Stremel who told me once, “You get it small or you don’t get it at all.”
Can only mean one thing. The dog days are over.
It’s back to school season. This is my third year teaching art but this will be my first year working full time. Also in two new schools. Needless to say the next few weeks will be the dreaded “transitional” type in the Alexander household. As soon as I come out from my anxiety heavy rock I will try to be creative again and share with you.
There is one bit of good news I’d like to share….
I WON! I did it, thanks to all who voted actually. To celebrate my facebook art contest victory with www.iprintfromhome.com I want to share a special coupon just for you good in my shop through one month from now. Use the coupon code “iprint” for 33% off your entire purchase. Sweet deal, eh? Why not use it on my glorious selection of new giclee prints?
What are you doing to get ready for the new school year?
