A week ago today I was sailing along on the Hudson river, relaxing, and taking in the beautiful hills (mountains?) and sky. So peaceful and close to nature. On the same vacation just an hour or so away we visited the crazy man made busy NYC. I’ve been there before and it is always a shock. This time though I think I figured out how to get around (ah, streets and avenues, eh? No prob). Saw the Statue of Liberty, the view atop the Empire State Building, Central Park, and others. Visiting that part of the country always makes me think about where I am from. We just don’t have much that compares. Some things, but you have to be really curious and interested to enjoy them. Maybe I’ll do a best of Kansas City later. For now though, I think I am experiencing a little post vacation fatigue. Torn between wanting to go back and wanting to find something to appreciate about my own home surroundings. And also just plain exhausted.

Cute birds will take over the world! One tattoo at a time. Let this brave woman lead the way! I am proud to show off this photo of a woman wearing a Lauren Alexander inspired birdie tattoo. It’s for real – permanently drawn on her skin for eternity! I am so honored, so thrilled that she shared this photo with me. Now, who’s next in line for a tattoo? Better take a picture for me….
